The two-part figure on the left side of the diagram below, represents what happens in Conversion. We open our hearts to Christ in full submission to Him, and receive by faith His indwelling presence and His righteousness. We are then a child of God.

The middle figure in the diagram, a right-pointing arrow, represents our Christian life, which is nothing but a continuous reaffirmation of our committment to Christ and a continuous claiming of His free gift.

The rectangle on the right represents the transformation of our moral affections that results from a lifetime of consecrated reception of God's grace.
