Babylonian Records

Babylonian records indicate that a lunar eclipse occurred in the 5th year of Nabopolassar's reign, and that he died in the 21st year of his reign. Since that ecclipse occurred on April 22, 621 B.C., we know that he died in 605 B.C.

Another lunar eclipse was noted in the 37th year of Nebuchadnezzar's reign. Since that eclispe occurred on July 4, 568 B.C. Nebuchadnezzar had to have become king in 605 B.C.

Two astronomical points, therefore, have confirmed the date of Daniel chapter 1.
